Could That Ruin My Voice?

Im a 17 yr old male soprano/mezzo-soprano (no falsetto) i can sing from the A just below middle C to about a the A just below C6. But This Past Year My Choir Director Made Me Sing Tenor 1. Which was hard and physically stressing as well and i feel like i was just used because she needed my voice.Could this permanently damage my voice I really scared singing is my life and is the only thing i can see myself doing
