Fix plot dimensions in MATLAB?

Does anyone know the syntax to fix the dimensions of a plot created in Matlab? I want the Grid that is drawn to be square but by default the plot is sized to best fit the data. I would like a 1400X1400 plot to be drawn even though my data is all less than x=900. Thanks for your help.
