Write a letter to the CEO of the credit card company, outline what has happened, the name of the woman in Customer Service to whom you spoke, date & time of phone call and her responses to you. Do not call. Keep a copy of your letter for future reference, and if need be, consult a civil case attorney as to your possible recourses. By the way, once an account is turned over to a collection agency, the case is usually handled by them, not the company.
