Symptoms high fever, seizures, hallucinations, temporary blindness?

I have a close friend that was taken to the hospital yesterday after having hallucinations and then a seizure. She had two more seizures on the way to the hospital and was becoming violent. In the hospital, she had a 103 degree fever continued seizures and could not see. The have now put her into an induced coma and are waiting to do test. This is extremely frightening to her family and the doctors are not giving any information. What could this be?
