I'm 12 and from a small city near Chicago. How can I become an actress?

My dream is to be in a movie or TV show. The thing is, I don't know how to start. For one, I am 12 years old, and my family is comfortable where we are. My mom is a teacher, and my dad a fireman so we wouldn't be able to travel alot which could be a problem. I haven't even really told my parents yet. I am kind of embarresed too, because so many people want to grow up to be movie stars, and I am afraid my parents will laugh at me and dismiss the idea, or not take me seriously. I know so many people want the same thing and all that, and I understand it will be alot of work and I won't be in a movie overnight. I have been doing a ton of research and have looked up online cles and such. Any good websites or free online programs? I have looked at monologues, and performed them for my little sister. (LOL) I just want to know if I am any good. I don't want to sound y but I think for having no experience I am not that bad. See, everything is mostly decided for me. My parents mostly control me. I just am trying to follow my dream.
